Gateshead

A Tyne and Wear town that is large, opposite Newcastle upon Tyne on the River Tyne's southern bank, is Gateshead, England. Including the Sage Gateshead, the Angel of the North and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, the town is known for its architecture.

Situated in England's North East in the Tyne and Wear ceremonial county, within the County Durham boundaries that are historic, is the town of Gateshead. In Gateshead, the Trading Estate of Team Valley is still one of the United Kingdom's purpose-built commercial estates that is larger and initially the largest.

Formed following the North Durham Rugby Club and Gateshead Fell Rugby Club merger in 1998, was Gateshead Rugby Club. As Gateshead West, Bensham, and Low Fell stations in 1965, 1954, and 1952 respectively were closed, there are presently no stations on this line within Gateshead.

Twinned with, near Rouen, France's Saint- tienne-du-Rouvray town and the Japanese Komatsu city, is Gateshead. Took out a patent on the manufacture of wire ropes in 1840 and in partnership with Messrs, was Robert Stirling Newall. At Gateshead, Liddell and Gordon set up his centre of operations.

Also hosted, in 1990, the Garden Festival of Gateshead, rejuvenating (0.81 km2) 200 acres of derelict land (now mostly followed with housing), was Gateshead. Over the summer months, International Stadium of Gateshead holds regularly athletics meeting that are international.

Address to the Gateshead Phoenix Basketball Team is Gateshead Leisure Centre. More than 10% of wider Gateshead Metropolitan Borough residing people stated in the 2001 Census, that they practiced no religion.
